3 Inspiring Things I Learned from Google as an Entrepreneur

The other day I was one of those lucky companies within Google Partners that got the chance to participate in a two-day sales training at Google’s Toronto office. It was not only an exciting but an inspiring experience that made me realize some key aspects of how a business should be run.

1. Think Big

Google was a startup at one point, as well but right now it’s one of the biggest companies in the world. If you know that you have something truly unique (talent or product) on your hands then don’t be afraid to think big and make it big.

2. Invest in Your Team

Every Google employee I met had this mysterious energy surrounding them.
They were confident, smiling and polite. Was it from the famous perks that Google offers to every employee? I doubt it. Google has always put a great effort into letting their employees’ voices be heard.
They were happy to be there because they knew that their work mattered. Invest in an extra ear for yourself when it comes to listening to your team’s ideas. It’s free and yet it will yield fantastic, long-term results.

3. De-Clutter Your Office

This is not a joke. Google is known for having a clean, modern brand image and their office is no different. The modern and tidy environment accelerated my brain into thinking more creatively. A clutter-free office can make space for new ideas for your business and make you feel less overwhelmed. Even if you don’t want to invest in a renovation right now, a little office feng-shui & cleanup can boost the creativity level for your team.
