GPT stands for Generative pre-trained transformer

ChatGPT is a chatbot launched by OpenAI in November 2022.   It is a powerful AI bot that engages in human-like dialogue based on a prompt and has a remarkable ability to interact in conversational dialogue form and provide responses that can appear surprisingly human.

It is a large language model (LLM ) and  trained with massive amounts of data to accurately predict what word comes next in a sentence – kind of like autocomplete, but at a mind-bending scale.

ChatGPT has taken over the news cycle and is a fantastic early example of the power of AI.
