I know what you’re thinking. Feng Shui and designing websites? What does an ancient Chinese philosophy have to do with cutting-edge website development?
When we take on a new project, we love to approach it with a new canvas—empty online real estate, if you will. Even though we may have substantial experience dealing with similar businesses in the industry, we continually avoid a cookie-cutter template by buliding each website as tailored to the client as possible.
We emphasize that every element of a webpage needs to be optimized in a particular manner, be it a logo, an image, or a keyword. Even while we caution the client that looks are not everything, it still remains very important. This positioning, framing, and navigation of space is an art form quite like that of Feng Shui.
Feng Shui is defined as “a system of laws considered to govern spatial arrangement and orientation in relation to the flow of energy (qi), and whose favorable or unfavorable effects are taken into account when siting and designing buildings.”
This applies very literally to web design—in fact we could easily consider this flow of energy as online traffic.
How does the orientation and placement of the elements in your website impact your business?
- It generates traffic to your website through search engine optimization
- It converts leads from that traffic to your website into high-quality buyers.
When visitors land on your website, a visually appealing presentation already stimulates their senses positively. The visitor will be further enticed to explore the website, and read or check out what you have to offer. A great combination of an eye-catching appearance and really good content is absolutely crucial to converting that visitor to a buyer. Like accurate feng shui, the visitor will love visiting your “home” and would be comfortable and feel good in your space, so much that they will be persuaded to kick off their shoes and settle on your virtual couch as a solid, returning client. Maybe they will even invite their own friends to come visit! That’s exactly what you want, right?
So what’s stopping you? Are you ready to take on the clutter in your website space? It’s a daunting prospect certainly, and that’s exactly why we’ve already got our sleeves rolled up to help you. Give us a call.
